UEC ASEAN Research and Education Center of the University of Electro-Communications (UEC) held the international workshop "The 6th ASEAN-UEC Workshop on Informatics and Engineering" on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at the Academy of Cryptography Techniques (ACT), in collaboration with the ECTI Association (Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications, and Information Association of Thailand) and the Radio and Electronics Association of Vietnam (REV). This workshop, co-organized with ECTI and REV, both of which are actively involved in ASEAN, has been held annually since 2019 to provide students from ASEAN and UEC with opportunities to present at international conferences.
This 6th ASEAN-UEC Workshop was held in a hybrid format, with ACT in Vietnam and Burapha University in Thailand serving as local venues, while participants from other locations joined online.
In the first half of the workshop, representatives from the host universities, ACT, ECTI, REV, and UEC, delivered opening remarks, followed by seven invited lectures from various countries. Speakers from Vietnam (2), Thailand (2), Indonesia (1), and Japan (2) gave engaging presentations on their respective research topics.
In the second half, after video presentations, there were 30 poster presentations by students and young researchers from ASEAN and UEC. These presentations were held both at the local venues and in online sessions. Among the posters, 2 were from Vietnam, 19 from Thailand, and 9 from Japan. After the poster presentations, seven students who presented at the Thai venue were awarded eight "Young Researchers Encouragement Awards."
More than 140 participants attended the workshop, either at the Vietnam venue or online, providing a valuable opportunity for students from ASEAN and UEC to present at an international conference.
